It’s a daily struggle most working people have…coming up with a lunch idea each day. Sure, there are lots of good places, but what sounds good? The problem is worsened when it’s a group lunch. Getting a group of co-workers to agree on a destination nearly requires the use of a mediator. This article presents some ideas to help with the most important decision of your day.
The easiest solution is to remove options and agree on a standard lunch place. If you always go to the same place, there is no decision to make. You just go. This keeps inter-office fighting to a minimum. But, having lunch at the same old place time after time can get old.
If you want to avoid conflict, but also want some variety, you can designate a lunch decision maker. This is the dictatorship approach to the lunch idea. It solves the problem, but will probably ultimately result in co-workers hating the dictator and separating to form their own lunch group.
